City of South Perth and Town of Victoria Park Joint Bike Plan
Consultation has concluded
The Town of Victoria Park and the City of South Perth have embarked on a joint effort to deliver a comprehensive bike plan for the community by 2018.
The plan aims to understand the needs of the cycling community and seek to further develop the existing cycling infrastructure. We want to make the cycling network and facilities better connected across the two local government areas, which will make cycling safer and more convenient.
The councils appointed a common consultant to undertake the development of the bike plan, which includes research into the current situation, a gap analysis and best practice solutions suitable for our local community.
The Town of Victoria Park and City of South Perth undertook community engagement in 2017, including three community workshops, two stakeholder focus groups, a number of stakeholder interviews, an online and hardcopy survey completed by 349 people, a mapping exercise completed by 239 and 951 people informed of the project. The feedback received has helped to inform the draft Joint Bike Plan.
What is happening now?
At the Town's Ordinary Council Meeting on the 10 July 2018, Council adopted the City of South Perth and Town of Victoria Park Joint Bike Plan.
Thank you to all of our community who participated in the development of the plan.
