WhatThe Burswood peninsula is experiencing an exciting transformation, with an expansion to Crown Perth, the new Perth Stadium, and residential communities at the nearby Burswood Peninsula and The Springs.
Bounded by the Graham Farmer Freeway, Great Eastern Highway and Victoria Park Drive, Burswood Station East is strategically positioned close to many of Perth’s major tourism and entertainment destinations. It also has the potential to benefit from Perth Airport’s evolution into an international transport hub and the increasingly popular Albany Highway main street in Victoria Park. Burswood Station East is in the prime position to stitch together the Peninsula, the Springs and Crown Perth to form an integrated, inviting and comfortable urban setting and become a central piece of the peninsula’s transformation into Perth’s premier entertainment precinct.
The Town has recognised that these factors have culminated into a unique opportunity to drive Burswood Station East’s regeneration from a predominately service and industrial precinct, into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly transit-oriented development complete with well-designed and high-quality apartments for couples, families and singles. Offices, cafés, shops, entertainment and short-stay accommodation will create activity throughout the day and help Burswood Station East to become a destination in its own right.

Link Burswood Station East with Burswood Peninsular
I would like to see Burswood Station East linked with Burswood Peninsular by sinking the railway line. The space created could be used for a mixture of open park areas and areas for artistic expression and cultural exhibitions. If this was not possible then at least a pedestrian bridge near Riversdale Rd and traffic bridge near the Griffiths St and Goodwood Pde intersection would be handy.

Supermarket
The area is in desperate need of a decent supermarket - it doesn't have to be large scale like Coles/Woolworths, but a decent IGA would be fantastic! The IGA over in Rivervale is pretty average and you have to leave the area to get to it.

LOCAL CAFE/RESTAURANT/BAR
A local café/restaurant/bar would be nice in the area allowing the community to stay within the area and within walking distance from their homes/businesses. Just because Burswood Casino is nearby doesn't mean people want to eat/drink with 1000 other people!

Pedestrian Overpass Bridge
To improve access from Burswood East to Burswood Peninsula - an overpass footbridge across the train line around the end of Riversdale Road to the Burswood Beninsula side would be beneficial to pedestrian/bicycle traffic.
