  • Old Spaces New Places

For most of history streets were the most central and shared space of a city. Across many cultures and times, the street has been the stage where public life unfolds. However, in the last 50 years the way we use our streets has changed and we now think of streets as being a space just for cars, parking spaces and moving goods. As a result, our streets are failing us. We need to start thinking of ways to reclaim our streets as places, reshaping them into destinations for culture, creativity and community. By re-imagining our laneways and intersections along Albany Highway, the Town is hoping to do just that.
