The Town of Victoria Park has now concluded the six-month parking trial and would like to thank everyone that had participated in the surveys. The result of the surveys received and data gathered from the trial are currently being compiled, and a report will be submitted to the November 2019 Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM), which will be followed by an Elected Member (EM) workshop to seek direction on implementing the learnings from the parking trial.
The Town adopted its Parking Management Plan in November 2012. The approach of the plan supports a focus on seven hot spots with attention to equitable access, parking management techniques, enforcement resources, public transport use, better use of public parking resources and processes for ongoing management.
A review of the hotspots within the plan is scheduled every two years with consideration of the current parking environment, evaluating conditions, recommending solutions, making changes and ongoing monitoring.
What is happening now?
At it's Ordinary Council Meeting in November 2019, Council resolved to approve the implementation of changes to parking price and free time for on-street parking along Albany Highway where hourly measure occupancy is below 50%. For more information, please read the minutes of the meeting in the document library.
