In 1916 The East Victoria Park School was built on the land where the Park Centre
now sits on Albany Highway. It was soon the biggest state school in Western
Australia. Post World War Two, rapid changes saw the school occupying valuable
commercial land facing a busy highway. By 1977 a new site had been located (the
old State Saw Mill site) in Beatty Avenue, and a new schoool was constructed.
