About Victoria Park

The Town of Victoria Park is a local government area situated immediately to the south east of the Perth CBD.

The Town is made up of the suburbs of Victoria Park, East Victoria Park, Lathlain, Carlisle and Burswood as well as sections of suburbs from Kensington, Welshpool, Bentley and St. James.

An inner-city residential area, 'Vic Park' is known for its dynamic and vibrant community, and thriving café and retail strip along Albany Highway.

The Victoria Park local government area was established in 1894, but in 1917 was absorbed into the Perth City Council. In 1994 that authority was restructured into four autonomous councils and Victoria Park once again became an independent municipality with boundaries similar to the original 1894 boundaries.
