Council's unanimous decision

Last night Council made a unanimous decision that Harold Rossiter Park and Raphael Park were not suitable locations for any potential synthetic turf hockey facility. These locations will not be considered in any future investigations for this project.

Council committed to continue working with the Victoria Park Xavier Hockey Club, together with the wider community to investigate different options for providing the hockey club with a synthetic turf. The Town’s Public Open Space Strategy will inform these investigations. While no timeframe has been set, the community will continue to be invited to participate in further conversations.
