Strategic Community Plan – Major Review

Vic Park, what's next?

Your place. Your priorities. Your future.

The Town of Victoria Park is reviewing its Strategic Community Plan – the plan that sets our community’s long-term direction and helps guide the Town’s decisions, services and investment.

This is a chance to hear what you value about the Town, what could be better and what matters most for the years ahead. How has the Town changed since that last major review?

Whether you live, work, study, run a business or spend time here, we want to hear from you. When consultation opens, join the conversation and help shape what’s next for Vic Park.

Building on what you told us

In 2021, the Town undertook a community engagement exercise, VicVision, which brought together feedback through surveys, workshops, pop-up activities and a community forum. The Town recorded 880 participants/responses across those activities. That feedback helped shape the current Strategic Community Plan and its community priorities.

What is the Strategic Community Plan?

The Strategic Community Plan is the Town’s highest-level planning document, our roadmap for the future. Developed with the community, it sets out a long-term vision and the priorities we will work towards. It helps guide the Town’s planning, decisions, services and projects.

Why is the Town reviewing it?

A review gives us the chance to check whether the plan still reflects the community’s needs and hopes for the future. It also helps us consider new challenges and opportunities. Above all, we want to make sure that our vision for the future is aligned with your own thoughts about Vic Park.

How can I get involved?

Feedback can be shared with us through the online survey below.

Tell us what you love about our Town, what could be better, whether our current plan still reflects what matters to you, and what you think we should focus on next. You don’t need to know anything about strategic planning – just share what matters to you, your priorities and your big ideas. Your feedback will help shape the Town’s direction for the years ahead.

Alternatively, written feedback can be sent to admin@vicpark.wa.gov.au (titled "Strategic Community Plan feedback"). We'll also have opportunities to talk with us in person - more info coming soon!

How will my feedback be used?

We’ll look at what people tell us alongside research and input from other stakeholders. We'll also draw on the results of other community consultations that the Town has conducted. Together, this will help us review the Town’s vision and priorities and prepare a revised Strategic Community Plan. We’ll report back on what we heard and how it influenced the draft.

Why does my feedback matter?

The plan is meant to reflect the people and places that make Vic Park what it is. Hearing a wide range of views helps us understand what to protect, what to improve and where the Town should focus its efforts.
