Macmillan Precinct Masterplan

The Town is calling for community input on the next phase of the Macmillan Precinct Redevelopment Project.

Macmillan Precinct

Located in the heart of East Vic Park, the Macmillan Precinct is home to many community facilities surrounding John Macmillan Park, including the Library, Community Centre, Leisurelife, Vic Park/Carlisle Bowls Club and Vic Park Centre for the Arts.

The Macmillan Precinct is an important community hub that services a wide range of residents, clubs and community groups, and the redevelopment project aims to future proof the precinct to meet changing community needs.

Masterplan

With the Community Charter and Concept Plan now finalised through stages 1 and 2 of the redevelopment project, the Town is progressing to Stage 3 – preparation of a detailed Masterplan.

The masterplanning process builds on the ideas proposed in the Concept Plan and looks at how the Precinct's public spaces and community facilities can be designed to best accommodate all users, as well as the cost and funding implications of all options.

Stage 3 incorporates several milestones, including the development of a Design Brief, and Bowls and Community Hub Option selection.

What now?

The project team have worked closely with key stakeholders, including Town officers and the MacMillan Precinct Working Group to develop four high-level Community Hub Concept Scenarios for the precinct.

The four scenarios investigate options for the Library, Leisurelife, Victoria Park Community Centre, Vic Park/Carlisle Bowls Club, arts and performance spaces, plus other areas.

Comments are invited on the proposed scenarios before a recommended option is presented to Council.

    Share your thoughts on the draft Community Hub Concept Scenarios for the Macmillan Precinct Redevelopment Project.

    The Community Hub Scenarios consider options for the Library, Leisurelife, Victoria Park Community Centre, Vic Park/Carlisle Bowls Club, arts and performance spaces, plus other uses. 

    Survey participants are strongly encouraged to review the Community Hub Scenarios Summary report, and/or listen to the online presentation ahead of completing this survey. 

    Community input will directly inform the option that is recommended to Council.
