Local Emergency Management Arrangements Review

Consultation has concluded

What are the Local Emergency Management Arrangements?

Both the Town of Victoria Park and City of Belmont have embarked on an effort to deliver comprehensive Local Emergency Management Arrangements by 2017. The plan aims to ensure everyone who would be involved in an emergency is prepared and trained to respond appropriately in a crisis.

The Emergency Management Act 2005 was proclaimed on 23 December 2005 and came into operation on 24 December 2005. The Act establishes overarching emergency management arrangements for the state’s emergency services, including local governments and support organisations. It provides a framework for managing emergencies requiring a significant and coordinated response, including the provision of necessary legislative powers and protection to prevent or mitigate, prepare for, respond to and take measures to recover from large-scale incidents.

How can you be involved?

Let us know your thoughts by completing our survey by 11.59pm on Monday 12 June 2017.
