The Town of Victoria Park would like to take this opportunity to thank all residents who have taken advantage of the new digital permit system.
As we approach the end of the financial year and permit fees are applied for the 2021/2022 financial year, the Town would like to check in with residents and businesses by conducting further community engagement regarding the current permit system. The engagement will seek your valuable feedback regarding the following two options
Parking management options
Option 1: Continue with the current digital permit parking system
Option 2: Trial the removal of the permit parking altogether
Option 1: Permit Parking
To retain the current parking permit system it will require the following:
$30 per year, payable by applicable residents/businesses, to recover the cost of administration.
Permits limited to one specific vehicle per residence.
Permits will only be valid/required on days where there are events at Optus Stadium
Benefits
Discourage stadium patrons parking in the area on event days
Discourage commuter parking in the area on event days
Limited parking restriction on non-event days
Cons
Cost to residents
Restrictive - one specific vehicle per residence
Permits would not guarantee a parking bay
Permits do not exempt from other parking restrictions
Option 2: No Permit Parking (Trial)
A six-month trial of no parking permits in the area. Area signage will be updated to reflect the changes in the parking restriction.
Benefits
Support businesses in the area
No fees applicable for parking on-street
No timed restrictions excluding The Circus area
Cons
Parking may be used by stadium patrons
Parking may be used by commuters
How can you have your say?
