The Town has received a development application for a change of use of the above-mentioned property to ‘Residential Building’ (Lodging House).

In accordance with Local Planning Policy – Community Consultation on Planning Proposals, you are invited to comment on the following matters:

  • Land Use – In accordance with the Town of Victoria Park’s Town Planning Scheme No. 1 a ‘Residential Building’ is an ‘AA’ (discretionary) land use within the ‘Residential’ zone and requires Council approval.
  • Car Parking – In accordance with Council’s Local Planning Policy 23 – Parking Policy a minimum of 1 car bay per bedroom is to be provided. The application proposes 9 bedrooms, requiring 9 car bays on-site. The applicant has indicated 11 car bays on-site, however, Council has determined that only 4 car bays could be appropriately used. Accordingly, there is a 5 car bay shortfall on-site.
