Consultation has concluded

The Town has received a development application for Grouped Dwellings. The application proposes five Grouped Dwellings, two of which are two storey and the remaining three being single storey.

In accordance with Local Planning Policy 37 – “Community Consultation on Planning Proposals”, you are invited to comment on the following matters:

  • Primary Street Setback – Council’s Local Planning Policy – Streetscape requires a minimum street setback of 3.0 metres from Galaxy Way. The application proposes Unit 3 to have a minimum setback to Galaxy Way of 1.565 metres.
  • Secondary Street Setback – Council’s Local Planning Policy – Streetscape requires a minimum secondary street setback of 3.0 metres from Galaxy Way. The application proposes Unit 2 to have a reduced setback of 2.55 metres to Galaxy Way.
  • Visitor Car Parking– The Residential Design Codes require that a visitor bay be provided within the site when five or more grouped dwellings are proposed. The application proposes five grouped dwellings with no visitor car bay within the development.
  • Fill and Retaining behind Street Setback Line - A retaining wall is proposed to be constructed along the south-eastern common boundary with No 54-56 Galaxy Way. The retaining wall is proposed to have a varying height of between 0mm and 700mm above natural ground level. The Residential Design Codes permit filling and associated retaining walls behind the street setback line and within 1.0 metre of a common boundary up to a maximum height of 500mm above natural ground level.
