The Town has received a development application for Additions (Residential). The application proposes a contemporary rear addition behind the existing dwelling and a new carport in front of the existing dwelling.

In accordance with Local Planning Policy 37 – “Community Consultation on Planning Proposals”, you are invited to comment on the following matters:

  • Primary Street Setback (Carport) – Council’s Local Planning Policy – Streetscape requires a minimum street setback for a carport’s posts of 1.5 metres from the front boundary with an average setback of not less than 6.0 metres. The application proposes the carport’s posts setback to the front boundary of 850mm metres minimum and 4.92 metres average.
  • Boundary Setbacks– The Residential Design Codes prescribes the minimum setback distance of buildings from boundaries other than the street. The application proposes variations to the setback of the following walls:
    • Ground Floor wall to Kitchen – 1.8 metres required; 1.2 metres proposed to northern (side) boundary.
