Urban Forest Community Forum

The Town’s Urban Forest Strategy will contribute to a healthier and happier community and a stronger, more sustainable natural environment for everyone to enjoy today and into the future.

To reach our target of a 20% tree canopy cover, the Town and it's community need to work together. We've come up with a number of ways to get involved and with different levels of commitment to suit.

The Town of Victoria Park is committed to helping our residents, community members and staff to survive and thrive through this difficult and uncertain time.

With that in mind, we will be using the Urban Forest Strategy as a vehicle for redeploying staff from temporarily suspended services as urban forest officers (UFOs). This is an opportunity to adapt and innovate our UFS delivery to the current circumstances.

  • More trees? Yes please!

This year we launched our Urban Forest Grant program which is open to local residents, community members and organisations for community led, tree planting projects that will contribute to our urban forest goal of 20% tree canopy cover.

There are three levels of funding available:

    • Level 1 grant: up to $500 (unincorporated and incorporated groups)
    • Level 2 grant: $501 to $4, 999 (incorporated groups only)
    • Level 3 grant: $5,000 to $10,000 (incorporated groups only)
