Penalty Units Local Law 2020

Consultation has concluded

The Town of Victoria Park is proposing to make the Penalty Units Local Law 2020. This local law is made under the Local Government Act 1995 and sets the value of a penalty unit for other local laws.

The purpose of this local law is to prescribe the value of a penalty unit for the purposes of modified penalties expressed in penalty units under other local laws.

The effect of this local law is to set the value of a penalty unit for the purposes of other local laws within the district.

What is happening now?

A report item is being presented at the February Ordinary Council Meeting with a recommendation to make the Penalty Units Local Law 2021, in accordance with section 3.12 of the Local Government Act 1995. The agenda item is now available on the Town website.
