Safer Neighbourhoods Plan 2022-2027

Share your thoughts on the Town’s new Safer Neighbourhoods Plan.

From February to June this year, the Town engaged with over 1,000 community members to better understand the safety issues that impact our community.

From what we heard, our community would like to see:

  • More lighting and brighter lighting for streets, laneways and parks
  • More security initiatives
  • Support for vulnerable residents – especially seniors
  • More visible Town Rangers and WA Police
  • Partnering with other agencies to improve neighbourhood safety
  • Safer parks, shopping centres, train stations and main streets
  • Traffic calming measures, particularly near car yards and schools

Feedback from our community and key stakeholder groups has been used to create the Town’s next Safer Neighbourhoods Plan.

The draft Plan includes five key outcome areas that aim to achieve safer neighbourhoods in the Town over the next five years, shown below.
