Lathlain Precinct - Perth Football Club Zone

Consultation has concluded

What is the Perth Football Club Zone?

This Zone includes the present Perth Football Club building and immediate surrounds. The building fulfills a variety of roles including football administration, training, functions and spectator facilities. The building was built in the mid-late 1950’s and is now out-of-step with contemporary facilities of its kind across metropolitan Perth. An opportunity exists to seek redevelopment of the site to complement the overall redevelopment, achieving more multi-purpose and community focused outcomes than is possible from the existing building. A Business Case for the redevelopment of this zone has been completed and endorsed by Council. Cost estimates within the Business Case for this project are approximately $15 million.

Thanks for your involvement

The Lathlain Park Management Plan, which sets the overall principles for the use and future development of Lathlain Park, has now been finalised with valued input from stakeholders and the community.

Council is set to consider the draft Management Plan for endorsement to advertise in October. If Council elects to proceed to advertising you will have a further opportunity to comment on the Plan for a period of 28 days.

Keep an eye out on the Lathlain Precinct website or contact our Project Manager for further information about progress on the Management Plan or this zone.

  • Who will be responsible for the preparation of the old bowls club site for the temporary parking for the 2017 season and then returning it to "original condition"? Is it the Perth Football Club or the Town of Victoria Park or the WCE?

methanol Asked almost 4 years ago

    Hi Methanol

The scope of work for temporary parking at the Old Bowling Club site is currently under consideration by the Town of Victoria Park and West Coast Eagles.

  • What is happening with the parking for Perth Football Club's last 2016 home game on 27th August? The old parking area can't be used as it is now a construction site so no entry is only permitted by authorised personnel and all the appropriate personnel safety equipment as designated on the signs must be worn. The old Carlisle-Lathlain bowling site proposal that the WCE will construct a temporary carpark is unlikely to be completed as they have not submitted any proposals to the Town of Victoria Park as yet for approval. The site is unusable at the moment because the cars will probably get bogged, like the fencing contractor did when he delivered the temporary fencing for the dog exercise park.

The Roberts Road car park will still be available for 27 August 2016. Additional hard standing of the former Tennis Courts will also be available for car parking.

  • Is the payment of the $1 million by the West Coast to the Town of Victoria Park only to be used for the development of the Perth Football clubs new building and the grandstand? Is the $1 million payment a single payment or does it have progress payments for when designated milestones are reached? When is the lump sum or first progress payment required to be made by the West Coast Eagles?

methanol Asked almost 4 years ago

The lease agreement between the Town and West Coast Eagles documents details of the $2 million funding arrangements – these can be found at Clause 21 of the lease agreement.

  • What will the parking arrangements be for the PFC game on 27 Aug 16? The old carpark is now a completely secured construction site, so can not longer be used as only authorised personnel with correct personal protection equipment can enter the site and as such the WCE contractor has employed security personnel to ensure this is observed. The old Carlisle-Lathlain Bowling Club site have not been prepared by the WCE for the temporary overflow carpark and I believe no plans have been submitted to ToVP. Therefore the community will see the effects of the loss of the existing bitumen carpark, as the patrons will only be able park on the street around Lathlain Oval. The community should be able to accommodate the cars, as the street parking requirements will be less than before the Eagles joined the AFL and the PFC had a home game.. This will allow the community feedback to be given at the Community Workshop 2 to be held on 28 August. The effects will be reduced because all the parking on Zone 2 will be available inside Lathlain Oval's fences. The Perth Football Club and Town of Victoria Park should advertise on their websites and in the West Australian that the existing carpark is closed to encourage the patrons to seek alternative public transport or method to attend the game.

  • Do any proposed plans currently exist for the new building and grandstand, or only the artist's impression which was included in the video of Channel 9's news item? Does this artist's impression resemble the intended building who is it only a illustration for cover of submission issued by the Perth Football Club.

    Hi methanol

    Thanks for your question.

The images included in the video are contained in the business case also, however are only artist's impressions/concepts at this stage.

    Kind regards
