I have a question about a planning policy open for community consultation. Who can I contact?

Please call the Town on 08 9311 8111 and ask to speak to the responsible officer. For detailed enquiries, we recommend that you contact the assessing officer to arrange a meeting time (during business hours) to discuss.

Why is the Council reviewing its Local Planning Policies?

The Council is undertaking a comprehensive review of its existing Local Planning Policies to ensure they are relevant, facilitate appropriate community and built form outcomes, and are up to date with current legislative requirements. The document library for each policy review contains the relevant Minutes of the Ordinary Council Meeting at which the review of the policy was considered. The Minutes include details of the specific outcomes of the review and the proposed changes that are being recommended.

How will the public comments be considered?

The Town will be advertising the proposed changes to any of the reviewed Local Planning Policies, prior to their formal adoption by the Council. The recommended changes may include the revision of existing policies, the consolidation of multiple policies into a revised single policy and/or the revocation of out-dated policies that are no longer considered necessary.

The comments received during public advertising will be used to guide and inform further changes to any proposed measures, before they are considered for formal adoption by the Council.
