Review and update to the Local Heritage Survey

The Town is conducting a review and update of the Local Heritage Survey. The Local Heritage Survey (previously known as the Municipal Heritage Inventory) was prepared in 2000 and is a guiding document outlining the heritage value of various historic buildings throughout the Town. The Local Heritage Survey does not form part of the Town Planning scheme, however it provides a thematic framework that has identified places of historical and cultural significance.

Stephen Carrick Architects has been appointed to undertake the review and update of the survey.

As part of the review process, the Town sought information from the community on the existing list as well as additional information and new nominations. In particular, information on:

  • Existing properties in the 2000 Town of Victoria Park Municipal Heritage Inventory.
  • New nominations that community members have for places that should be considered for the new Local Heritage Survey.
  • Additional historical Information that community members can provide to the Town for the updated Historical Overview of the Local Heritage Survey.
