Lathlain Park Zone 1 - Perth Football Club
Consultation has concluded
Lathlain Park Zone 1 is the final stage of the Lathlain Precinct Redevelopment Project, which aims to create a world class sporting and community precinct in Lathlain.
With seven out of eight zones complete, this final redevelopment project will see the Perth Football Club revitalised as a contemporary, multipurpose centre that caters to the needs of the Town’s diverse community.
The redevelopment will involve replacement of the grandstand and construction of new facilities that will enhance the local area, provide a boost for WAFL football and support the growth of women’s football.
The Town is taking this opportunity to redevelop Lathlain Park Zone 1 to become not only a world class football facility, but also a highly functional multipurpose centre that supports a range of community activities.
In addition to new football infrastructure, the revitalised precinct is proposed to include a variety of multipurpose spaces that will be available for wider community use – including function spaces, exhibition areas, meeting rooms and more.
The provision of these spaces within the new facility is based on a significant amount of community feedback stemming from a number of key projects.
Specifically, the Lathlain Park Management Plan has informed the overall direction of the Lathlain Precinct Redevelopment Project, and more recently the Social Infrastructure Strategy has helped to identify the need for various types of community infrastructure throughout the Town, including Lathlain.
What now?
We are now undertaking a final stage of community engagement to refine exactly how the community spaces within the new facility need to be designed, ahead of the proposed construction start date of late 2022.
