How long is the trial for?

The trial will run until October 2018.

What bins are being replaced in the trial?

There are two types of bins being replaced in the trial.

    Wooden-framed cylinder bins

This type of bin is in need of replacing due to the age, condition and damage from graffiti. The Town has 18 old wooden cylinder 40-litre bins situated around the Town.

    Metal-framed cylinder bins

This type of bin is in need of replacing due to the age and condition. The cost to replace this bin is approximately $850 per unit. The Town has a number of old metal cylinder 40-litre bins situated around the Town.

Both styles of bin are awkward for the refuse team to empty and no longer comply with ccupational health and safety codes.

Is the Town earning money from the bins?

No.  The Town is simply trying to provide an avenue for anti-litter messaging and allow local business to promote themselves, as well as the promotion of community events, all whilst having a selection of bins upgraded and maintained at no cost to the Town.

I'm a local business. How can I advertise on the bins?

Local business advertising is co-ordinated by Natsales Advertising. They can be contacted on (08) 9314 7933 or at www.natsales.com.au.
